Dark Romance Books as Each Zodiac Sign

Part two

Hi y’all! Welcome back to my little corner of the internet where I love to geek out about all things bookish! Although I mostly read horror, romance or fantasy, if it’s got a good plot (or not a good plot but good spice) - I’m here for it! Thanks for joining and I hope the information you find here is helpful.

Warmly,

Jilly

Welcome to part two of pairing each Zodiac sign with a dark romance book that suits them best. Why write a blog on this? Only the bookish girlies will get it.

All of these books are listed on my Bookshop.org Storefront along with a TON of other recommendations for books to suit your mood. Want a more personal rec? Leave a comment below!

And now onto the main event…

1. Cancer

Our Cancer friends are sensitive, emotional and put their heart into anything that they do. They value security, domesticity and having a safe home. As the sign of the crab, they have the tough exterior that may sometimes be hard to get past, but once you are in, you can experience their softer sides. The dark romance that gives major cancer energy is…

The Never King

BY NIKKI ST. CROWE
(vicious lost boys series, #1)

Spice: 3/5

Tropes: “Touch Her and Die” , Peter Pan Retelling, Reverse Harem, Morally Grey

GoodReads Rating: 3.8

I always, in a loving way I promise, think of Cancer’s as our obsessed, never let you go, ‘you’re mine’ trope lovers. Once they make a commitment, they are never letting go. And speaking of never breaking a… vow? ‘The Never King’, a Peter Pan and Wendy reimagining, is a perfect story to talk about long, long, LONG standing grudges and resentments in this perfectly dirty and dark romance novel.

2. Leo

Leos are loud, proud and love being the center of attention. They are loyal and love hard. However, and if you’ve ever loved a Leo you may know, Leo’s can be picky and arrogant. A Leo loves when you love them- it may even be their love language. So, which Dark Romance book so I think vibes with our fiery and vivacious Leo’s?

NEON GODS

BY KATEE ROBERT

(dark olympus series, #1)

Spice: 5/5

Tropes: “You’re Mine”, Greek Mythology Retelling, Kinky

GoodReads Rating: 3.71

I can’t think of a better star sign to represent this Persephone and Hades retelling. I mean, Hades was def a Leo, right? Kind of obsessed with himself, wants to be the center of attention and loyal AF? I would really be surprised if he wasn’t. Speaking from experience, my ex was a Leo and it was very hard for him to let go. I think it’s safe to assume that our Hades in this novel does no such thing… #notalleosareharrypotter

3. Virgo

Hard-working, detail oriented and trustworthy. Think: queens of organization. Virgos are the friends who will make our itineraries for the girls trips. Oh no! We forgot to make reservations? No we didn’t because our lil Virgo did it for us. However, if they are not able to control the situation, Virgos can be temperamental. It’s hard for them to go with the flow and be flexible. So, what dark romance book do I think encapsulates the Virgo?

TELL ME TO STOP

BY CHARLOTTE BYRD

(tell me, #1)

Spice: 4/5

Tropes: Forced Proximity, “Beg for it”, 365 days

GoodReads Rating: 3.55

‘Tell Me To Stop’ is a WILD ride that is perfect for our plan-loving Virgos. Without giving too many spoilers, this book has the ‘contract’ trope and ‘forced proximity’ trope. And what is more Virgo than making a plan and following through with it? Plus, this book is a short read- I found it for free on Amazon. Basically just spank-bank material- don’t read for the plot. ; )

Libra.

Although our little Libras can be indecisive and their “fairness” can be infuriating when you just want to vent to someone without them saying “but have you thought about it from this other perspective…” , we love Libras for their great listening skills, for their wit and charm and because they always know the best gossip. FOR REAL- ask any of your nearest Libras and they have the hottest shit on the street. That aside, Libras are also known for being smart, artistic, romantic and pleasure-seekers! oh lala. So, for our naughty, spicy Libras I picked…

DEN OF VIPERS

BY K.A. KNIGHT

Spice: 5/5

Tropes: Reverse Harem, Non-Monogamy, BDSM, “I own you”

GoodReads Rating: 3.64

I feel like the Libras are going to be scandalized that I picked this book for them. But I really hope that they secretly love me for it. And, honoring their love of fairness, this book does end in the most satisfying way. Just be ready to strap in for a wild ride…

Scorpio.

Known for their loyalty, bravery and passion, Scorpio sounds like a shoe-in for team Gryffindor. However, back them into a corner and you get the stinger- they can be jealous, possessive and secretive. Basically, don’t cross a Scorpio because one day, even years later, you will find that you have a curse on you and that curse will be from a Scorpio. <3

So here’s my rec for you…

DOES IT HURT?

BY H.D. CARLTON

Spice: 4/5

Tropes: “I hate you but I want you”, kinky, Grumpy x Sunshine

GoodReads Rating: 3.93

Scorpio, I really wiped out a good recommendation for you. What I know about you, Scorpio, is that you can’t resist a grumpy x sunshine trope. Well, this book is that trope on steroids. I also felt like y’all would like all the water scenery in this book…… #thewaterfallscenetraumatizedme #watersign

Saggitarius.

And last but not least, we have our Saggitarius. The sign that is most likely to have a bookstagram and is honestly intimidating to write about. Sagittarius are our firey, adventurous and optimistic friends that can truly take the worst kind of situation and see it as a challenge to overcome- and make a tiktok about it on the way ; ) When befriended they are curious, honest -even brutally so-, and funny. But if you are killing the vibe then you are so out. So, as the last of our Zodiac friends in this series, I decided to give the Sagg’s ….

FATE OF A ROYAL

BY MEGAN AMO & BRANDY JONES

(lord of rathe duet, #1)

Spice: 5/5

Tropes: Mated, Royalty, Paranormal, College, Why Choose?

GoodReads Rating: 3.79

I thought this little number would be perfect for Saggitarius since this book is about finding yourself a part of a universe that you didn’t know existed. Knight Deveroux will satisfy your heart’s desires.

I really hope this Two Part series has been as fun for y’all as it has been for me! I am always open for suggestions on new blog themes, book reviews or suggestions!
